Motif Neurotech selected for ARPA-H EVIDENT program — precision biomarker data collection alongside RESONATE

Rice News4/27/2026·04/27/26🌐 USA

Summary

Motif Neurotech was selected as one of the research teams in ARPA-H's EVIDENT (Evidence-Based Validation & Innovation for Rapid Therapeutics in Behavioral Health) program — part of the same $139M behavioral health initiative announced in April 2026. Through EVIDENT, Motif will collect additional biomarker data alongside the RESONATE clinical trial to identify with greater precision which patients are most likely to respond to neuromodulation, whether a treatment is working, and how it is working. This dual FDA trial + ARPA-H precision medicine track is the most comprehensive psychiatric BCI program ever designed.

Why it matters

The combination of FDA IDE approval for a safety trial (RESONATE) plus ARPA-H funding for precision biomarker collection (EVIDENT) alongside the same trial is exceptional program design. Most BCI trials collect enough data for regulatory approval. Motif is simultaneously collecting the precision medicine data needed to make the therapy commercially viable — identifying responders and non-responders prospectively rather than retrospectively.
