Precision Neuroscience Closes Oversubscribed $250M Series D Co-Led by Pershing Square and the Ackman Oxman Institute
Summary
Brain-computer interface developer Precision Neuroscience closed an oversubscribed $250 million Series D. Pershing Square Inc. and the Ackman Oxman Institute shared the lead, joined at the top of the round by an undisclosed life sciences fund. The investor group spans sovereign wealth, venture, public-market, and family-office money, including Mubadala Capital, ARK Invest, B Capital, Invus, Hitachi Ventures, and the Duquesne Family Office. Founded in 2021, the company now puts its total raised at $430 million. It reports having performed more than 100 patient procedures at 18 institutions, holds FDA clearance for its Layer 7 cortical interface, has a commercial partnership with Medtronic, and runs its own MEMS manufacturing plant in Texas. The new capital is earmarked for widening clinical work, taking Layer 7 through further FDA review, and building out commercialization infrastructure.
Why it matters
A round this size, with hedge-fund, sovereign-wealth, and family-office money all in the same cap table, signals that BCI is being underwritten as a major healthcare category rather than a venture-style moonshot -- and it lands alongside several other nine-figure BCI rounds, raising the bar for every company still raising.
