European Master in Neurotechnology Wins Positive Accreditation Panel Report Ahead of 2027 Launch

Summary

An assessment panel from the Dutch-Flemish accreditation body NVAO has returned a favorable assessment of the planned European Master in Neurotechnology, a joint degree built by seven universities in the NeurotechEU alliance: Bonn, Radboud, Miguel Hernandez of Elche, Bogazici, Cluj-Napoca's medical university, Lille, and Reykjavik. The English-taught, two-year, 120-credit program is organized around brain systems, clinical practice, technology, and computation, with ethical, legal, and societal questions woven through each, and it requires time at a partner university plus projects with companies and healthcare institutions. Launch is planned for the 2027/28 academic year, and Bonn says preparations are in their final stages.

Why it matters

A cross-border degree that combines neuroscience, engineering, and clinical training, with company and hospital projects built in, is a pipeline investment for Europe's neurotech sector rather than a near-term market event; no students will graduate until well after the 2027/28 launch.
