The Impact of Spinal Cord Stimulation on Patients' Ability to Work and Work-Related Outcomes
Neuromodulation8/1/2025ยท08/01/25๐ Europe
Summary
This retrospective study of 26 patients found that spinal cord stimulation positively impacted work ability, with a return-to-work rate of 27.8% for patients previously on disability leave. Among eight patients employed before SCS, all were able to resume work. Those working full-time maintained their workload.
Why it matters
Return to work is a key patient goal and economically important outcome. Demonstrating that SCS facilitates work resumption strengthens the value proposition for payers and employers, potentially supporting broader reimbursement and access to SCS therapy.
